Mallet from tree branch

This was one of the turnings I did before the first goblet. It was my first time mouning raw wood into the lathe. It was a great feeling to make something out of a seemingly useless piece of wood from a tree I felled. It has since cracked a little but is still completley usable.

I made one similar after seeing one Texascop47 made and uses in his shop. Perfect for those times when you don't want to use a metal hammer. I use mine to drive my spur center into my blanks for mounting on the lathe
