Now that is a cool piece of wood. What is whitetop and where does it grow?

This is an Australian burl. Where it comes from in Australia I don't know. I bought this little piece to try because I could afford it. The bigger pieces ain't cheap. After turning it I think I might invest in some larger ones.

And to think that folks there don't like the woods they have. Most wish they could get hold of my log pile. Anyway, Keith, you just keep pumping out beautiful pieces. Very nice piece. 8)

Thanks Gil and Rev. A dish seems to simple for this wood but it was a small burl and I couldn't think of what else to do with it.
