This is some of the whitest maple I have ever seen and very unusual grain also. It was Given to me from A woodturning Freind
It has a Bradford Pear collar that has some nice curl. It measures 4" high X 6" wide, finish is Gel Poly and Buffed on the Beall.
Jim I know you have a penchant for black backgrounds but I feel you are doing your work a disservice. You do some nice work but I feel it is hard to see against that dark background. I am not trying to offend or upset, I just have a hard time seeing your work.
Nice work Jim, I do agree with Phil though, you need to add some diffused light up front to show the form better.
On the wood, that is really white maple, I almost thought it was Alder at first glance. They turn very similarly but Alder is significantly whiter than maple.
