Walnut Goblet C&T

Walnut overall length 10 1/2"
4" tall goblet
5 1/2" stem 3/16" thick
max goblet width 3"
base 2"

the wood was alittle green and in the stem you can see a small bend that accured after turning and friction polish but no crack. Hope you like it Ned.

in a couple days I'll post the piece that is burl with natural edge but it is damaged goods had to glue the stem back together but I loved the wood and natural top so I used CA on it.

Larry, very handsome goblet. I like the shape of the cup, and the wood is beautiful. Did the softness of the walnut make the stem wobble a bit as it got closer to the goal? Nice work.

I like the green wood idea, warped stems, I am going to have to try that. Never know what will turn up, around, over, as long as it doesn't crack.

Thanks guys, the walls are not very thin, I was having a terrible time with the end grain. I agree it looks medevil, but I was trying to make a tulip.

Well, tulip try or not - I like the bowl. Worth trying. Looks good in Walnut - I'm not sure it would do as well in a lighter wood. Good Job!

Very good. You found the secret of walnut, it warps a lot when turned green. Still looks good though. 8)
