Spalted Maple Vase

8.5h x 5.75w spalted maple vase with natural voids in rim and body. Finished with two coats of satin wipe on poly. Critiques are always welcome as they help me to get better.

Since you asked for a critique please understand it is only one man's opinion and not meant to be gospel. BTW, I'm really nit pickin'

The bottom section, below the widest part, looks perfect. Just above the wide part and below the rim, it looks a liitle flat to my eye. I think if you continued the curve in this section it this would turn from a realy great piece to a really outstanding piece.

I believe that Ron has hit the nail on the head. The flat area would be a bit more appealing to the eye if there were a bit of curve to it. This is a great piece. A fantastic piece would be had with the curve in the upper section. Great work. 8)
