English Walnut bowl

9" x 5" English Walnut bowl with a raised and carved ring. This was some very punky wood that used up a lot of CA to stabilize it. It was my first attempt at carving a raised accent ring. Carved with a small v-gouge. The punky wood made it hard because it kept breaking apart. It has a lot of nice color and grain in it though.

I like the accent ring Curt, did you mark the cuts first or just eyeball your way around?

I just eyeballed it Rick. When I started turning this it was so soft that I decided to use it for the carving experiment.
