Banksai Box

This box is made of a banksai Pod and the ring and finial are sassafrass. It is 2" tall and 1" in dia. I couldn't get the top tight enough to make it pop when you pull the top off. I just couldn't get the vaccuum.:-)

Cool smoky, I was wondering if anyone else would try a banksia pod box. They're kind of neat in a "won't hold water" kind of way. Wink

I really like the top ring on the box, smokey. What was your procedure for attaching it?

Thanks guys and Chris they are sorta neat and you're right, they won't hold water or a vaccuum.
Rick, I shaped the pod and used a parting tool to flatten the top. I glued the sassafrass block to it. Then I shaped the finial and parted it off leaving the ring. I then drilled out the center.
