The last of my Chinese elm. These are the two good sides. The last side is scarred with CA and basically makes this piece a stay-at-home. 6"x5", Antique oil and bealle buffed.
This is a very striking piece, Rick. It's a shame that one side is scarred. I've given up "repairing" cracks, etc. w/ca glue because of it's "soaking" characteristic. If a bit gets outside the desired area it's virtually impossible to get rid of the stain. What do I do? I either leave'um alone or "mask" them if possible.
I have found that CA stains virtually disappear if an oil finish such as Watco Danish oil is used on the piece when done. I've got lots of pieces done that way and you cannot tell.
I like the peice a lot scarred or not I think you did a good job with it. why not try Philipe, idea of oil finish what you get to lost? I like it no matter what!
