christmas ornaments

Fun with the kids. There is cocobolo, spalted sugar maple, crabapple and paduk. The lumpy looking white one in the middle right is a snowman, on the other side it has eyes, a nose, mouth and buttons burned in.

I like those! I've seen the kits with the hardware for them. They probably make nice Christmas gifts and look really pretty on a Chrismas tree.

I got some kits from craftusa, some from woodcraft. I got them to try, so they were around 3 from craft usa and 4.50 from woodcraft. They do both offer discounts. Craft USA drops to 2.75 at 5 kits. They were fun, fast, make a good use of scraps (pakuk and cocobolo) and dried yard limbs (crab apple and spalted maple). Like pens, they make good kid projects and if they mess up too bad, you just salvage the tube and start over without much lost so the kids don't get discouraged.
