The hollowness goes down to about 2 inches from the bottom and is also hollowed up from the bottom. The carved spirals continue on the inside almost to the bottom. I will try to send a pic of the inside later. Thanks for the comments.

I worked on it off and on for about 6 weeks. I usually have more than one going at a time and I don't keep track of my hours. I took a book out in the shop to write down the hours one time, but it got covered with sawdust and I never wrote anything in it.
