5.5 x 9.5 Cherry bowl. I don't do many bowls these days, however, last weekend I did this after "blowing up" two hollow vessels in a row. Got about 3/4 of the way down in both of them and got too thin...you know the rest. I figured I could give up for the day or attempt something else. I decided that turning a bowl would give me a better chance of not getting strike three for the day. Since I dont do many bowls, I would be most interested in comments regarding this piece.
Good description, Gil. "Meandering Edge" I think that's a very pretty bowl, especially the meandering edge. It has a nice continuos curve to it too. It looks like the 'fruit cherry', is it?
Very nice. Looks like you've got the thickness pretty thin. I really like the satin finish on this piece. Gloss would have been too much with the natural edge. You did a great job on the composition. 8)
You achieved a nice curve on this and I like the creamy color you got from the finish. Is there a small foot on this? I was going to say it had an undulating edge, but that sounds to regulated. Meandering fits.
