Walnut Vessel with Finial

This was a birthday present for my mom. The finial was added after the form was done as a special request (by mom) after the fact so it may not be the best design but she likes it - and she's the one that counts eh? Vessel is walnut, approx 11" dia. Buffed with the Beall 3-part buffer. Finial is ebonized using black india ink.

Jmarx, nice work. The vessel is great. The finial looks better than most IMO. Composition is very nice as a whole. Thank you for sharing it with us. 8)

Thank you all for your kind words. Chris, the finish started with a coat of Behlen's Woodturner Finish, then I used the Beall Buffing system, using all 3 waxes.

Ditton on the praise, the finial is very nice. It's a good example of ebonizing, something I'd like try out.

Glad to hear that I still have it. As for are we always this nice the answer is not always. I prefer to think we are honest.
