I had some time to kill in between lacquer coats on my sweetheart's christmas present, so I threw a small branch section on the lathe and turned this pith in SW hollow form. I believe the wood is some kind of birch. 2 3/8" dia. x 2" tall, finished with friction polish.

thanks guys, yes Rev the pith is off center by about a 1/4" to get the grain to "spill" over the edge, otherwise it would have been a little boring.

Cool. Great form. I like the idea of the slightly off center turning to add grain character. Nicely done.
