Sugar Maple Vessel

6.5 X 8.5 sugar maple vessel with colored quartz inlay. I would never use quartz again because it is harder than HSS and it took me forever to resharpen my tools.

Nice looking piece! Isn't that a rather dangerous spot to cut an inlay groove? Seems to me it would be real easy to turn it into a lidded bowl at that point... Smile

High risk, high reward. It looks more dangerous that it was. The piece is fairly thick in that area (about 1/4 inch). The inlay groove is only about 1/16th deep.
