Bruce, real nice work. This dye idea is starting to really catch on. Question for you: Have you tried sanding the died piece so that the dye only remains in the softer portions. I've seen some burls done this way and it is really stricking. Just wondering if you've tried it with any of the woods you are using without burl. 8)
Thanks for the comments. As a matter of fact, I have used the technique of sanding off some of the dye on some of my pieces. For example, the previous one I posted , 5072 was first dyed black inside and out. Then I sanded to remove most of the black except for what stayed in the grain pattern and then added the colours.
