Black Walnut & Turquoise bowl

Black walnut bowl 6 3/4" dia x 2 1/2" tall. There were star checks at the heart that was left but rather than turn it away, I filled them with turquoise. Antique oil finish. Sorry the photo is alittle fuzzy.

Nice use of the turquoise. Did you clean up the checks a bit? Really nice piece. You must be getting plenty of lathe time now. 8)

Thanks Rev, I am getting quite a bit of lathe time now that the bevy has run dry for a time. I do clean up and widen the checks with a razor knife to ensure good adhesion with the turquoise.
