This is a piece that I can see lots of possiblities for. Care to share the a., b., c., 1., 2., 3.'s? I for one would love to know how to do this one. 8)
Hi, Rev:
Thanks. It was inspired by a piece I saw at a wood show several years ago. A salad bowl form where the outside was walnut and the inside was maple. When I finally decided to give it a try I turned the outside of the walnut bowl and sanded and finished it. Then I reversed it and turned out the inside but did not sand or finish the inside. Then I turned an ash bowl outside to roughly the same form. Once I thought it was relatively close I sprinkled chalk line chalk inside the walnut bowl and test fitted. Then it was just a matter of turning off the chalk marks on the outside of the ash bowl and test fitting again. Once I had done this several times I had a pretty good fit. I epoxied the two together and when the glue was dry I turned, sanded and finished the inside of the ash bowl by mounting on the recess of the walnut bowl. It really went quite smoothly. This one is my "proof of concept" prototype, but I haven't tried it again, yet.
