This bowl was rough turned from green plum wood and then microwaved and finished turned the next day. Sanded to 600g and finished with friction polish. Man I'm really on a friction polish kick.
That's a very nice shape and I like how you've done the rim. I second the opinion on your luck at turning plum without it cracking. The microwave might be the trick.
hehe... Again thanks for the comments. That's what I hear...that plum likes to crack, but my trouble is always with the apple. When I turn an apple piece the surface always deforms with the quilting/grain and gets bumpy then the whole piece splits. Of course I haven't tried microwaving it yet. That will be next.
