4.5" x 4.5" Black Walnut crotch wood oil lamp. Deft sanding sealer for a few coats then regular deft followed by briwax.

Curt, I do not know much about the "oil lamp" part, but this is a great form, and finish with a fine piece of Walnut.

That Deft sure looks nice. Wish I could work it like that
So is there just an 1 1/2 hole bored in the peice for the lamp?

Yup, just the hole for the glass oil lamp. It makes for a pretty heavy and stable chunck of wood. I hope it won't tip over too easy.
