The cedar looks great with the lamination. I especially like finial, becasue its laminations are not parellel to the lamination in the main body of the box. Well done.

I like this lidded box a lot, I guess because of the way the angles and colors blend. Do they still use Persimmon for driver heads (laminated or not)?

Gil, I havn't seen a actual new wooden club head in years. Everything is made of metal now. Persimon used to be the wood of choice for high end clubs.

Gary, very nice work. You've broken several sterio types along the way. Thanks bor sharing your work and giving us so many ideas.

The same company that makes Louisville Slugger bats does make a line of persimon clubs. They are expensive and considered some of the better clubs on the market. At the same time, they are considered a handicap by far too many golfers who favor the metal clubs. Go figure. 8)
