These are all some very nice pieces, jp. You seem to be doing very well as a relative "newbie". The cabinet work must have given you some valuable wood experience to draw on.
By the way, you are only the second person I'm aware of (besides myself) that has turned a wood identified as "spalted walnut". Every time I've shown any of my spalted walnut pieces to other turners for the first time, I'm met with anything from questioning looks to tactful versions of "you're nuts - there's no such wood". Then some proceed to tell me what kind of wood I REALLY have. It was my good fortune to find a whole tree of it, not just parts of the tree.
With the wood I have, even the heartwood lost the normal dark color and is all the same. The 2 bowls in my gallery show what it looks like all the way through.
