This on I roughed out almst two years ago.Finish turned then Carved,Sanded and Sanded and Sanded.Then Finish with Shellac

Gary, great job on this piece.
I like the nice crisp carving, I think the woven look give it another dimension.

The woven look is really nice!! Those butt ends where the top carvings meet the bottom ones must have been a tedious chore for sure! Excellent

Very nice piece there, how did you get those "carvings" on it? Did you carve them after making the shape, or is there a certain method that you use?

I Turned from a rough form that had dried.Then used an index wheel to draw grid on area that i wanted to carve.Then once I had my pattern I carved using power and hand tools.then a LOT of sanding.
