Octopod

Walnut end grain,
measures 4 x 7 inches.
Who ever heard of an 8
sided seed pod?....3, or
5...that would be easier.
Seemed like 16 while
working on it!. I added
just a little honey amber
and antique maple
transtint thinned a bit
with laq. thinner to help
the grain jump a little.
The finish is WOP.

Thanks Ed. I`ll admit it.... yes!...these intrigue me right now. So many variations possible. Seep pods, radiolarian, diatoms offer endless reference for inspiration.
