Red Box

Wanting a change of pace from standard bowls and birdhouses, I grabbed a piece of burl I had kicking around and this is what I came up with. I used some red TransTint dye in DNA. I think I got the saturation too high. I wanted to see if the grain would show more because there is no color to the wood. I think it works with the black plug and final, also made from box elder. The body is about seven inches wide and five inches tall. Coated with Danish oil and then top coated with lacquer.
