Just curious as to why you didn't use the walnut for the lid. Before I read the whole description I was wondering how you got all that red to show up in the walnut. Anyway, great combonation. Lovely piece.

RevDoug, this was actualy the second lid I made for this box. My original was made of maple. I decided that the contrast was to great and it overpowered the walnut. I did want some contrast so the Babinga was closer to the walnut but much more subdued.

A very nice, and easy to look at box, with a fine finish. The wood combination is good too.
