I would definitely say that's spalted, Dave! Beautiful piece of wood. I like the sunkin' rim and the shape is right on. Classy piece.

Thanks Don & ED, the good thing is, I have access to more of this wood, because that one sold fast. Now I just have to turn a few more, isn't that a bugger.

Sweet! The wood is gorgeous. You did a very nice job with the design and the finish. So glad you didn't try to do too much with it. Just a classic shape and a clear finish. All looks to be smooth and even. Just what is needed for wood with this much character. I love it! 8)
