Osage orange cigar pens

Made from blocks Jeanne got off Ebay. Lost four tubes before gettng these done. the cut of the blocks and add to the fact that they were very dry and hard made for some interesting cutting. I think the black chrome looks good with Osage Orange.

That is come cool grain orientation...I would suggest chrome or platinum fixtures with such dark wood though, the contrast would set them off even more. Wink

Nice pens Phil, The fit and finish look great. Osage orange can really dull your tools. I have a lot of osage orange blanks but none that dark, matter of fact, I don't think I have ever seen any that dark.

I wonder if Osage Orange is like Mulberry (same family), in that Mulberry turns from yellow to brown, and darkens with age and UV exposure.

yes, osage orange does darken with time. The more sun, the quicker it darkens.
