A very gnarly cherry burl with turquoise stuffing. Unfortunately I goofed with the texturing.....the busy wood just didn`t need it. Reminds me: sometimes the most important thing I can do is the thing I don`t. Hopefully, someone will overlook the overkill and deem it worth purchasing!
I think you were on the right track here. Most of the time a burl does not need too much more that what it presents on its own. You're probably right that it does not need the texturing. I think I'd leave off the steps and make the upper section a nice continuous curve to the mouth. All in all a very nice piece. A couple of adjustments on the next one and you'll have a spectacular piece. 8)
Rev., I`ve been thinking about Greek forms, but haven`t really studied them yet. So this came out as a mixed breed I think. On to the next blank!
