nice bowl! what did you use for the texturing? really like the way the wood shows through the black.

Thanks,The texture was done with a home made Brander.I converted an old battery charger.I make my own pattern ends with nychrome wire.

as a matter of interest do you wash your pyro with acetone or similar prior to finishing?

Because of the amount of burning on this peice I used a Brass brush to remove the loose ash/carbon then used a 3m red scotch brite pad.Prior to aplying the finish I wiped it down with mineral spirits.The other peices with less burning I skipped using the brush.
