I like this, for reasons I can't explain. Is that a crack at the base? That would be unfortunate.

yes it is, i like turning wood the way it is cracks, holes,and all. i find it fun to see if i can turn something from a piece that most people would throw away. if it stays together during the drying prosses then bonus for me. the cracks and voids in my pieces are stabilized and shouldnt go any further but thats all in the fun of the turn.
