I decided to have some fun today. I'd made the bottle a few weeks ago. It is another "revers turning" out of box elder. Finished in several coats of Danish oil. It stands about ten inches tall and is about seven inches wide. I was playing with making flowers using the skew and decided to make a stopper to hold them. The flowers are out of mulberry and airbrushed with water color paint.
There's a Youtube video of a guy named Stuart King turning them on a treadle lathe. There is a guy in our club that has been bringing some he made for show and tell. For pen turners that need a break from pens, they are easy to make, low mess, and you don't need much of a machine.
Live long, love lots, and turn fast.
Thanks mike. In keeping with full disclosure, the vase has been posted before. I just used it to show off the flowers because it was the one that held the stopper the best. Not a good fit, just better than the others.
Thanks Michelle. I used some brass wire for the stems. I'll maybe have to get some floral wire for the next round and do something to turn leaves and give them longer stems. I do have several different long stem paper and cloth flowers that I shift from vase to vase to keep things fresh in the display area.

Bamboo skewers would be to large. I made some more today and was looking for toothpicks that I thought I'd bought but I was mistaken. Another thing to add to the shopping list.
