Burnt Fir (2)

Description}: This is the second turning that was Accepted in the Anchorage Museum. The wood grain of the fir was raised by charing the wood, wire brushing it off, then recharing. I did this 3 times to raise the grain this much. Black and white gesso provided the visual effect. In contrast, I truned a small bown in the center. It stands on carved 3 legs.

Description}: Accepted by the Anchorage Museum or the 29th annual Earth Fire and Fibre exhibit. This collection of 3 turnings are turned, pryotextured near the rim then double finished to get the lace texture.
