Maple Burl Hollow Form

Description}: Made from a solid Maple Burl,hollowed out and grain popped with Magic Maple Stain + 2 coats polyurethane. Finish size is approx. 7 1/2"dia. x 3" high.

Nostalgic Handbell Ornament

Description}: Made from Wormy Chestnut for the lower and Tulipwood for the handle with a small piece of copper craftwire for the transition area. Length 4" x 1 1/2" dia with bell hollowed out, finished with Boiled Linseed Oil and Ren. wax.

Description}: I chose to make my call entry from Madrone Burl as it's quite pleasing to the eye of an admirer of wood while it's qualities let it hold up to the use in the field or home. The crow call was chosen as a call to be used by any calling skill level of the user,while maintaining durability. I enjoyed making this call for the challenge and I hope the recipient enjoys it as well,thanks to Woodturners Resource for the opportunity to participate.
