Spalted Red Oak Vase

Description}: Spring of 2010 a tree fell on my house. A friend cut it up and stacked the wood at the edge of my yard. About 6 months later I decided to split the wood and burn it in my outdoor fireplace. You can imagine my surprise when I split the first log a saw the grain! I have saved as much of this wood as I could for turning. There are several worm holes that really add caracter. Top is 4 1/2 inches, base is 4 inches and it is 6 3/4 inches tall. Finished with lacquer.

Box Elder vase

Description}: This vase is 7 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches at the base. Finished with lacquer and hand polished. This is one of my favorite pieces. The pictures do not really do the color justice.

Spaulted Apple Goblet

Description}: This goblet is made from some apple wood that was destined for the fireplace. I love the way a piece of wood can look horrible on the out side and beautiful on the inside. I didn't see any hope for this but my daughter came up with the design. 6 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Truly a one of a kind piece.
