Description}: This is a piece of "unwanted" cherry burl. I wanted to do a Calabash style form with a recessed domed top, inspired by David Keller and Terry Scott. The form is 6"x 5" and finished with 3 coats of Minwax Antique Oil. I refinished this about 3 times before finding AO.

Description}: Spalted Maple Hollow Form with a walnut collar. Wood was very punky, so I stabilized with with a 50/50 mix of white glue and water. The finish is 4 coats of Deft Satin Brushing Lacquer.

Description}: I made this bowl from an old 7/4 plank of Cherry. The insert is Spalted Holly and the accent band is dyed black with magic marker and textured with a burr bit in a Dremel. Holly is finished with Deft Satin Brushing Lacquer and the Cherry has multiple coats of Tung Oil. All is three wheel buffed.

Description}: This is an Oregon Myrtle Bowl/Dish and lid with American Holly pedestal and finial. The overall form is 8" is diameter and 7 1/2" tall. The finish is many coats of Formby's tongue oil and 3 wheel Beall buffed. The pedestal and finial are dyed black with Kiwi Black Shoe dye and sprayed with Krylon High Gloss clear acrylic.

Description}: Thought this looked a bit like a Walnut Steady Rest tire. It's about 3" in Diameter and 2" tall and a collar of Ambrosia Maple with a WOP finish. The finial is American Holly dyed black with Kiwi Boot dye and an overspray of acrylic clear coat. Walls are lesst than a 1/4" thick.

Description}: Was given this piece of pecan by a good friend who also turns. From the outside it was completely normal. It was very punky and had to be stabilized with CA in order to finish. Sanding sealed and 3 coats of Satin Deft Lacquer.
