The largest bowl is about 12" wide and 8" deep. The rims were burned with a propane torch before the inside and outside were finish sanded. They're all finished with a couple of coats of BLO followed by a lot of coats of semi-gloss spraycan lacquer, wet sanded with 600 grit, buffed with PL compound, then waxed with Renaissance wax. I let the BLO cure for about a month before spraying the lacquer. This is my first successful 3-bowl set from the McNaughton.

5 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=10138&title=mesquite-wedding-bowl-set&cat=692 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=10138&title=mesquite-wedding-bowl-set&cat=692 Thu, 27 Oct 2011 10:34:57 +0000 Walnut Crotch and Ebony HF

by: Vaughn McMillan

Description}: This piece of walnut crotch wood is about 9" wide and 7 3/4" tall to the tip of the ebony finial. Both the hollow form and finial were buffed with Don Pencil's PL compound and followed up with Renaissance wax.

11 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=9317&title=walnut-crotch-and-ebony-hf&cat=677 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=9317&title=walnut-crotch-and-ebony-hf&cat=677 Wed, 06 Oct 2010 22:40:08 +0000 Dyed Ash Round Bottom NE Bowl

by: Vaughn McMillan

Description}: This is natural edged ash, about 12 1/4" wide and 7 1/2" tall, with no foot...just a rounded bottom.
