Doug Miller

Description}: All 4 of these are turned from 2x2 mahogany that I traded a fellow in Maine for. Looks like it's been part of a barn for a long time. A beautiful dark grey/silver on the outside. Inside it is pure mahogany. After talking over the logistics with Chris last June and reading some more of the articles, I finally understand what I was doing wrong with those I turned for the symposium. Anyway, these are 3-3 1/4" tall, roofs nearly 2" wide, bodies >1 1/4" wide. Two of them are finished with one coat of Minwax clear shield. The other two are unfinished right now. Critiques welcome. Still trying to get the process down. 8)

1 comment http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=3748&title=first-2006-ornaments&cat=579 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=3748&title=first-2006-ornaments&cat=579 Sat, 16 Dec 2006 21:18:43 +0000 Apple and Hickory Bird House

by: Rev. Kind of a fun piece that will be given a place of honor.

5 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=2651&title=apple-and-hickory-bird-house&cat=579 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=2651&title=apple-and-hickory-bird-house&cat=579 Sat, 10 Jun 2006 05:00:35 +0000
