Description}: large piece 18 1/2 x 12 burl, wanted to leave as much spine as possible. Bottom black piece is ebonized maple, the piece can either sit up or lie on its side.

Calcite and Purpleheart vase

Description}: 5" x 5" approximately. buffed with carnuba. The piece really glows in person. This is my first stone piece with a wood segmented rim. going to work on doing some more of that. thickness just under 3/8" Calcite is 3 on hardness scale, I was told this is 3-3.5 I don't thing there is anything harder that I would turn but the carbide bit made it work out real well.

Description}: 6 x 6 1/2 from a block about 7 x 8 just over 30 pounds my biggest block yet. approx 1/4" thick throughout. after parting off I used the left over to make a lid with bloodwood for the knob. wax buffed.

Description}: First turning with Alabaster this is a semi translucent natural edge piece that is 7" across by 2 3/4 tall 1/4" thick throughout. Havn't seen this type much out there and as a first bowl I am very pleased with this.

Description}: HF made from East Indian Soapstone 3" tall by 2" just MM finish just about 1/8" throughout. when held to a light the whole thing glows and the other side of this piece is a gray.

Description}: First time I have turned this, fun to work with, dusty, messy, but fun. piece is 6" tall 3" wide or close to it. sanded to 600, then buffed. I don't know what it is but just wanted to get the hang of turning the stuff before the next piece that will be hollowed in some way or fashon
