I found the pyrography to be really relaxing and totally absorbing. The vase is cherry and stands about 8" high. I was really pleased with how it worked. The hollowing progressed smoothly and the laser really helped ensure a consistent wall thickness. Ever since I read David Ellsworth’s book Ellsworth on Woodturning I have been captivated by his “spirit forms”. This is my attempt at recreating one. The wood is spalted Sweetgum.

8 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7856&title=spalted-sweetgum-hollow-form&cat=500 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7856&title=spalted-sweetgum-hollow-form&cat=500 Sat, 18 Jul 2009 01:30:38 +0000 Ebonized cherry

by: Keith Larrett

Description}: Another shot of the same bowl.

1 comment http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7827&title=ebonized-cherry&cat=500 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7827&title=ebonized-cherry&cat=500 Wed, 01 Jul 2009 21:57:05 +0000 Ebonized cherry

by: Keith Larrett

Description}: I've often seen these thick walled bowls, don't know if that is the correct term or not, and wanted to try make one.
