Description}: My second hollow form and my first attempt at pyrography. I found the pyrography to be really relaxing and totally absorbing. The vase is cherry and stands about 8" high. Comments welcome, thanks.

Spalted Sweetgum hollow form

Description}: I got a chance to use my captured hollowing system with laser. I was really pleased with how it worked. The hollowing progressed smoothly and the laser really helped ensure a consistent wall thickness. Ever since I read David Ellsworth’s book Ellsworth on Woodturning I have been captivated by his “spirit forms”. This is my attempt at recreating one. The wood is spalted Sweetgum.

Description}: I've often seen these thick walled bowls, don't know if that is the correct term or not, and wanted to try make one. I ebonized the rim to try and accent the inner profile.

Description}: A couple of guys in my woodturning club have been encouraging me to put some of my pen designs on some larger turnings. This was my first attempt. The bowl was supposed to be six sided, but a "design opportunity" occurred along the way :) Bowl is hard pear, lid is white milkwood inlaid with veneers, finial is black alder.
