The stopper is made from pecan. I put a light coat of carnauba wax to add some shine to the CA.

1 comment http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7640&title=pecan-stopper&cat=500 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7640&title=pecan-stopper&cat=500 Mon, 11 May 2009 01:46:51 +0000 first bottle stoppers

by: DTBG

Description}: Here are my two bottle stoppers that I turned from black cherry.

6 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7279&title=first-bottle-stoppers&cat=500 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=7279&title=first-bottle-stoppers&cat=500 Mon, 02 Mar 2009 03:57:27 +0000 Pecan_Candlestick4

by: DTBG

Description}: Another candlestick from a piece of scrap that I had. I think this is pecan, but I'm not sure. It has lots of inclusions because the trunk grew in a rather odd star shape. Sanded up to 120 grit and finished with tung oil. There is a lot of grain tear out -- the wood is beautiful, but hard to work with. http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=6991&title=pecan-candlestick4&cat=500 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=6991&title=pecan-candlestick4&cat=500 Thu, 01 Jan 2009 17:56:08 +0000 Pecan_Candlestick3

by: DTBG

Description}: Another candlestick from a piece of scrap that I had. It had a lot of voids and inclusions. You can still see a big one on the base. It's American black cherry and I have a lot more :D

3 comments http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=6737&title=first-candlestick&cat=500 http://www.woodturnersresource.com/wrphotopost/showphoto.php?photo=6737&title=first-candlestick&cat=500 Thu, 13 Nov 2008 03:24:23 +0000
