Description}: Today I learned how to turn a platter. This is a piece of Ambrosia Maple that I got the sides to thin. I blew out a large chunk and said well now it is time for a design lesson. So there you see my first platter. 6 1/4 X 3/8 inch

Wife and her first bowl

Description}: My wife took a bowl turning class and this is what she made. Poplar about 8in x 2in the instructor told her to leave the tenion on. It is about 1/4 in.

Description}: These are some of the first pens that I have turned. I started out with some Slimline and Cigar Pens. I kind of like the Cigar pens they seem to be easier to turn.

Description}: Bowl is 5 1/4" X 2" I left a little part of the tenon to hopefully make it look as if it were floating. Sure wish I could have done a better job with that crack though

cypress bowl

Description}: Need advice this is a cypress bowl I turned and tried to put some Turquoise powder in the knot hole and crack the knot turned out ok but had a problem with the crack. Please advise as to how to work on the crack. Finnish is Mylands.

Description}: This is a Cypress bowl that has several new to me experience's new Thompson bowl gauge, first time using a chuck new nova g3, finished with a Beal bowl buffing system The bowl is 5" 1/2 by 1"1/2 and is finished with Mylands and Carnauba wax. Something else new to me as I was putting finish on a crack developed and now how do I make that a design feature? So I put a leaf and bead on with CA to either embellish or hide the crack. Please comment and advise. Tom
