Description}: Hi all! It's been a long time since I've completed anything, what with all the moving & being shopless for seven months. Now I've finally completed one of my many pieces that have been stored in boxes / bags for months. Look for more to come in the future from me. This is a very very nice piece I made out of a piece of rotting Cherry that I pretty much considered un-turnable. I thought for sure it would split or crack, but NOPE! It didn't. Anyway, it measures 5 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/2" high.

Willow Hollow Form

Description}: Well it's been quite a while since I posted some turnings, since I've been up to my armpits in painting the past year or so, but finally THAT'S done, and I can once again enjoy turning. Here's my latest piece turned from a nice piece of Willow. it measures 11" in diameter x 5 1/4" high. Dried over 1 year in my shop, and just completed TODAY! It's nice to be back :)

Black Poplar Candy Bowl

Description}: This piece was sitting on my shelf for over one year, as a winged bowl, but being the knuckle-racker that those are, I decided those type of bowls just weren't for me, so I removed the wings and turned this piece. It's Black Poplar measuring 7 3/4" in diameter X 3 3/4" high. I must say, I'm quite proud of how it turned (pardon the punn) out!

Elevated Hollow Form

Description}: This is my 1st. attempt at a elevated hollow form. I think it turned out pretty well, but what do you think? It's a Maple HF, and Lacewood finial, base is just painted maple.

Willow Bowl / Hollow form

Description}: I wanted to try something a bit different for this piece, so I decided to make a hollow form, but make the base look like a bowl. This is a one piece HF, and is made from Willow. This piece has been drying on the shelf since last summer and now that I had some time to turn, I finally completed it. Finish is 4 coats of poly sanded between coats.

Maple Vase

Description}: This is my very first successful turning of a piece of maple that's been in the shop for quite some time now. I tried turning other pieces with it, but the rotting / spalting of it was so bad that it was hard NOT to ruin a piece. I'm so proud of this piece, with it's red streaks & knots, It's going to be hard to see this one go, should someone buy it. Also going to be hard to price, as I just love it so much...How can you price that?! Anyways, it measures 6" tall X 3 1/2" in diameter. All comments welcome (as usual).

Russian Olive Urn

Description}: This is my very first attempt at making an urn, so all comments welcome. I made it for my aunt who passed away almost exactly 2 years ago (Feb 2, '08). The family only put her in a box, so I offered to make this urn for her. To my surprise it only took two days in the shop to complete, and I just had it blessed tonight, so now at least, she'll have a decent place to rest in peace.

Description}: This is my latest piece, it measures 10" in diameter x 3 1/4" high. It's maple. Too bad the photo doesn't do the finish justice. It's VERY shiny. If I get a better photo, I will upload it, but for now this will suffice.

Description}: It's been a long time since I posted a picture, so here is my latest Black Poplar Bowl. I just love the grain in Black Poplar especially the "holographing" in the grain. It's is 8" in diameter and 3 inches high.

Description}: I was given this piece of maple from a co-worker, and she told me maybe you can make something with it, so I tried. What you think? For a small piece of wood it was extremely hard on my tools. Another hard-as-iron piece. I think it looks good
